Chair
The primary roles of the Chair of the Corporate Development Council are to provide leadership to the Council, lead Council meetings, administer the affairs of CDC in accordance with the general policies of the Council, and to represent CDC on the Missouri S&T Board of Trustees. The Vice Provost of Academic Affairs forMissouri S&T appoints the Chair of CDC for a two-year renewable term.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • All of the duties listed above
  • Develop the agenda for the general meetings
  • Appoint the Secretary and Vice Chair for the Council in coordination with the UMR Office of Development.
  • Appoint Team Leaders
  • Work with Missouri S&T staff to identify meaningful CDC teams
  • Coordinate the work of and serve as an ex-officio member of all Teams
  • Coordinate with the Director of Corporate/Foundation Relations on recommendations for CDC membership
  • Coordinate closely with the Vice Chair to insure continuity in the absence of the Chair
  • Work with the Chancellor to identify a successor and provide a smooth transition plan


Vice Chair
The primary role of the Vice Chair is to assist the Chair in the discharge of his or her duties and to replace the Chair when requested or in the absence of the Chair. The Chair appoints the Vice Chair for a one-year renewable term in coordination with the Missouri S&T Office of Development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be familiar with all of the duties and responsibilities of the Chair and be ready to replace the Chair if requested
  • Provide an orientation for new members at the fall meeting
  • Coordinate recognition for Council members who have concluded service on the Council at the spring meeting


Secretary
The role of the Secretary is to keep record of the terms, attendance, and activities of CDC members in fulfillment of the three-fold mission of CDC. In addition, the Secretary is to make a record of the proceeding of the Council. The Chair appoints the Secretary for a one-year renewable term in coordination with the Missouri S&T Office of Development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a record of the terms, attendance, and activities of CDC members in fulfillment of the three-fold mission of CDC
  • Make a record of the proceedings of the Council and provide them to the Director of Corporate/Foundation Relations
  • Work with the Director of Corporate/Foundation Relations to issue advance notice of all general CDC meetings


Team Leader
A team leader is responsible for leading a team of council members to accomplish specific objectives, which have been identified by the Vice Provost of Academic Affairs to meet an identified need of Missouri S&T. Team leaders are appointed by the Vice Provost of Academic Affairs and serve one-year renewable terms unless circumstances dictate a shorter term.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the Campus Resource Person assigned to the team
  • Lead team meetings
  • Appoint a deputy to replace the team leader if he or she is not able to be present at team functions
  • Work to the specific objectives of the team or coordinate changes as appropriate with the Vice Provost of Academic Affairs and Campus Resource Person
  • Facilitate an action plan to meet the objectives of the team
  • Provide a report in the form of minutes to CDC leadership, the Campus Resource Person, and team members
  • Facilitate the team activities/communications necessary between regularly scheduled CDC meetings to fulfill team objectives
