Who Benefits?

Everyone benefits-students, faculty, alumni and friends!

Students receive significant scholarships—Missouri S&T students graduate with one of the lowest debt loads of any university in the country. Research funding allows undergraduates and graduate students to gain research skills that future employers will appreciate. New and remodeled buildings provide students with quality learning environments. Updated lab equipment and new computers and programs keep our students current with the nation's leading technology, and our graduating students are eagerly sought after by companies.

Faculty are able to teach our students using current technologies and equipment. Donated Chairs and Professorships allow Missouri S&T to recruit and retain top notch faculty. Funding for research keeps our faculty active in cutting edge research. Gifts for teaching excellence reward our best teachers.

Alumni and friends are given the opportunity to give back to the university and see the direct benefits of their donations. The letters below outlines how important your gift is to Missouri S&T's students. And, as the prestige of Missouri S&T continues to grow, the more valuable all associations, including a degree from Missouri S&T become!

Below is an example of the many letters received from students illustrating the importance of donors' generosity:

Dear Academy Member,

I was completely shocked to learn that I had received a scholarship from the Missouri S&T Academy of Electrical & Computer Engineers. I was very honored to have been considered two years ago and didn't expect to be rewarded for the second time. I am very grateful to the Academy and all its members for their continued support and generosity. Somehow it makes those late nights studying all the more worth it.

Spending time away from Rolla has taught me the true value of the education there. I am currently serving my fourth co-op term in Huntsville, Alabama and am very proud to be a representative of Missouri S&T. Employees here are very impressed with the Missouri S&T students and graduates that work here. Dr. Kevin Schneider received all three of his degrees at Missouri S&T and currently serves as the Vice President of Technology. He is one of the most well respected members of the company. I am proud to be a part of such an impressive bunch, and I'm really looking forward to graduation in December. Then it will be my turn to give back to the students at Missouri S&T.

Again, thank you and thank you to all the members of the Academy for considering me for this scholarship and for awarding scholarships to my fellow classmates. Without the support of the alumni and the faculty, the students wouldn't be nearly as successful as they are.

Sincerely,

Molly Koester
